Do I need to activate the pass before every single travel day?
Yes. For each day you want to use Swiss public transport, you must activate that day in advance at activateyourpass.com using the reference number from your purchase receipt. The receipt itself is not a travel document.
Can I use this pass if I live in Switzerland?
No. The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is exclusively available to non-residents of Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
My family has three children — do all of them travel free?
Up to two children aged 6–15 travel free with each paying adult. If you have a third child, a separate Youth Pass must be purchased for them. Children under 6 are always free.
Is a mobile ticket accepted, or do I need to print anything?
Both options are available. Depending on your selection at checkout, you will receive either a print-at-home PDF (A4 paper) or a mobile e-ticket with a barcode. Either is accepted by conductors on board.
Do the scenic trains like the Glacier Express require a separate booking?
The rail fare on scenic routes such as the Bernina Express and Glacier Express is covered by the pass, but seat reservations on these trains are compulsory and must be purchased separately.
When does the pass expire on my last travel day?
The pass is valid until 5:00 AM on the day following your final activated travel day, so overnight journeys starting on a valid day are covered.
