Who is eligible to use this pass?
The Hokuriku Area Pass is available to non-Japanese citizens only. You must present your passport when collecting the pass at the ticket office.
Can I use this pass on the Shinkansen all the way to Tokyo?
No. The pass covers non-reserved Hokuriku Shinkansen seats only between Tsuruga and Kurobe-Unazukionsen. Travel beyond Kurobe-Unazukionsen towards Tokyo requires a separate ticket.
Does the pass work on the IR Ishikawa Railway or Ainokaze Toyama Railway?
Generally no. However, as a special exception, the pass can be used on the Himi, Johana, or Nanao lines provided you do not board or alight on the IR Ishikawa Railway between Kanazawa and Tsubata, or on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway between Takaoka and Toyama. Limited express trains on the IR Ishikawa Railway between Kanazawa and Tsubata are permitted. A separate liner fare is required if you use the Ainokaze Liner rapid service.
Do children need their own pass?
Children under 5 travel free. Each paying adult can bring up to two children under 5 at no charge.
Do I need to print my ticket?
You need to exchange your booking confirmation for a physical pass at the ticket office, so bring either a printed or mobile copy of your confirmation along with your passport.
When does the 4-day period start?
The 4-day validity begins on the first day you use the pass. Plan your collection and first journey accordingly to make the most of all four days.
