Can Japanese citizens or residents living in Japan use this pass?
No. The Greater Tokyo Pass is exclusively valid for international travellers. Japanese citizens and foreign residents of Japan are not eligible.
Does it cover the JR Yamanote Line or other JR services?
No. JR lines, the Tokyo Monorail and non-Toei buses are not covered. Check the official route map at the link provided in your booking confirmation to plan your journeys.
How does the 5-day period work exactly?
Each day runs from 3:00 AM to 2:59 AM the following morning. If you first use the pass between midnight and 2:59 AM, that midnight-to-2:59 AM window counts as day one.
Do I need to print the ticket?
No. The pass is a mobile ticket. Show it on your smartphone at staffed gates. For Toei buses, switch the display language to Japanese before showing it to the driver.
What do I do at an unstaffed station?
Use the intercom at the unmanned station to connect with a staff member, who will assist you with entry.
My child is under 6 — do I need to buy them a ticket?
Children under 6 are free. Each paying adult or child ticket holder can bring up to two under-6 children at no charge.
