Frequently asked questions
Do I need to choose a departure time when I book?
No. Your ticket is open-dated, meaning no departure time is fixed at the point of booking. You select your sailing when you arrive at the Majestic Fast Ferry counter, at least one hour before your preferred departure.
How do I actually board — do I need a printed ticket?
Bring your booking confirmation (digital is fine) to the Majestic Fast Ferry counter at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. The counter staff will exchange it for a boarding pass. You cannot board directly from your booking confirmation alone.
Are there extra fees I need to pay on top of the ticket price?
Yes. You'll need to pay a SGD 10 Singapore ferry tax before departure, plus an IDR 20,000 boarding fee and an IDR 100,000 terminal fee on arrival at Tanjung Pinang. From 12 March 2026, a fuel surcharge of SGD 6.00 also applies for departures from Singapore, payable at the counter.
What happens during peak travel periods — will I definitely get a seat?
Seats are subject to availability and allocated first-come, first-served. During busy periods, it's strongly recommended to reserve in advance by emailing sales@thktour.com or calling +65 6344 6222. Confirm your reservation at the counter no later than one hour before departure, as the operator will not hold seats beyond that point.
Do I need a visa to enter Indonesia?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Check the latest Indonesian entry requirements for your passport before travel. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of travel.
How often do ferries run, and how long is the crossing?
Departure frequency and exact sailing times can vary. Check the Majestic Fast Ferry official website for the current daily schedule before your trip.
