The primary boarding point is at Prague Main Train Station, but you can join either route at any designated stop. Show your mobile or printed ticket to the driver when boarding. For the river cruise, make your way to Pier 3 on the Vltava riverbank (Blue Route Stop 8).
What to bring
You can board at any designated stop on either the Red or Blue route — there is no fixed start point. The Main Train Station is the listed primary stop for the Red route, and Republic Square for the Blue route, but joining mid-route is perfectly fine.
The Red route uses open-top double-deck buses and covers the castle hill, Strahov, Petrin, and the Dancing House. The Blue route is a single-deck panoramic bus running from Republic Square through Wenceslas Square, Malá Strana, the castle, and down to the Old Town Square and the riverbank.
The Vltava River cruise departs every 30 minutes from Pier 3 on the riverbank (Blue Route Stop 8). It runs from 10:00 to 22:00 from April to September, and from 12:00 to 18:00 from October to March. You only need a cruise ticket if you book the combined bus-and-cruise option.
Your ticket is valid for 24 or 48 hours from the moment you first board the bus, not from the time of purchase. This gives you flexibility to choose when to start.
Children under 5 travel free of charge, though they will not be entitled to a dedicated seat. Check the operator's website for the age bands and pricing that apply to older children.
