Frequently asked questions
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. A mobile ticket on your phone screen is accepted at the entrance — no printing required.
Is admission ever free?
Yes. Entry is free for EU citizens aged 0–25, non-EU visitors aged 0–17, disabled visitors and their carer, job-seekers, and teachers with valid ID. Everyone gets in free on the first Sunday of each month and on Friday evenings from 18:00–21:00 (from 1 September onwards). If you fall into one of these categories, check whether purchasing a ticket in advance is still worthwhile for your visit.
Can I bring my suitcase or wheeled bag?
No. Suitcases and wheeled bags of any size are not allowed inside. The cloakroom is temporarily closed, but the museum has a partner private locker service nearby where you can store luggage for an extra fee.
Is the museum accessible for wheelchair users?
Disabled visitors and their carer receive free admission. For specific accessibility details — lifts, ramp access, and facilities — we recommend checking the museum's official website before your visit.
What exhibitions are currently on?
The permanent collection is always open, but temporary exhibitions change throughout the year. Visit arts-et-metiers.net/agenda for the current schedule before you go.
Is there an audio guide included?
An audio guide is not included in the admission price, but you can hire one on-site for an extra fee. It is available in several languages.
