Frequently asked questions
Do I need to print the pass or is a mobile version accepted?
The pass is fully digital. Activate it in the Rail Planner app and show it on your phone — no printing needed.
Can I cancel or get a refund after activating the pass?
Once the pass has been activated, cancellations and refunds are not available. If you have not yet activated it, contact us as soon as possible.
Do I need to book seat reservations separately?
Yes — most high-speed trains (such as the TGV, Thalys and Frecciarossa) and night trains require a paid seat reservation on top of the pass. Check each route before you travel.
My family has three children. Do all of them travel free?
Up to two children aged 4–11 travel free with one adult. A third child (or any additional children) will need a separately purchased Youth Pass.
I live in Europe — am I eligible for this pass?
No. The Eurail Global Pass is exclusively available to non-European residents. European residents should look at Interrail passes instead.
What does 'non-consecutive days' mean in practice?
You select a validity period (for example, one or two months) and use your allocated travel days on whichever dates you choose within that window — they do not need to run back-to-back.
Free cancellation
This pass cannot be cancelled or refunded once activated. Please ensure you are ready to travel before activating your pass in the Rail Planner app.
