Frequently asked questions
Can I use this pass on Kintetsu Limited Express trains?
No. The pass covers standard Kintetsu and Iga-Tetsudo services only. If you want to travel on a Limited Express (tokkyū) service, you will need to purchase a separate seat reservation ticket at the station.
How does a 'day' of validity work — is it 24 hours from first use?
No. One day runs from the first train or bus you board to the last service of that calendar day, regardless of the time you first tap in. If you activate in the evening, the pass is still only valid until the last train that night.
Can I cancel if my plans change?
Yes — a full refund is available provided the pass has not been activated and you cancel at least 24 hours before your selected travel date.
I'm buying passes for two people. Can I purchase them in one transaction?
You can, but be aware that all passes bought in a single transaction activate simultaneously. If you want to activate them on different days, purchase each pass in a separate transaction.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. The pass is entirely digital. Screenshots and printed copies are not accepted — you must show the live 'Use' screen from the link sent to you.
Is this pass available to Japanese citizens?
No. The Kintetsu Rail Pass is exclusively for non-Japanese citizens. You may be asked to show proof of eligibility.
