The Kansai-Airport Express "HARUKA" is a convenient and comfortable limited express train which directly links Kansai Airport with stations in the major cities in Kansai such as Nara, Kobe, Tennoji, Shin-Osaka, Osaka, and Kyoto. From Kansai-airport Station, it takes approximately 35 minutes to Tennoji, 50 minutes to Shin Osaka and 80 minutes to Kyoto. Sixty trains or around 30 round-trips run every day.

Where do I collect my ticket at the airport?
You collect a physical ticket at the designated West JR redemption point inside Kansai International Airport. Full instructions and a PDF map are linked in your booking confirmation. You will need to present a valid passport.
Can I use this ticket on any train, or only the Haruka?
The Haruka ticket is valid on the Kansai-Airport Express Haruka and also on Special Rapid, Rapid, and Local services within the stated route limits. It cannot be used on any other limited express train. Note that the limited express non-reserved fare is non-refundable if you choose to board a non-Haruka service.
What happens if all reserved seats are taken?
If reserved seats are fully booked or you have not exchanged your reserved seat coupon in time, you can still board the Haruka using the unreserved (free) seating car with the same ticket.
My child is 5 — do I need to buy them a ticket?
No. Children under 6 travel free. Each paying adult may bring up to two children under 6 at no charge. Children aged 6–11 require a child ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Can I cancel or get a refund if my plans change?
Cancellation and refund terms depend on the policy applied at the time of booking. Please check your booking confirmation for the specific conditions. Note that the limited express non-reserved seat fare cannot be refunded once you have used a non-Haruka service.
Does this ticket work for travel from Kyoto or Osaka back to the airport?
Yes. Several ticket options cover the return direction — for example, Kyoto to Kansai Airport and Osaka/Shin-Osaka to Kansai Airport are both available as separate one-way tickets.
