The JR Kansai Area Pass is exclusively offered to international visitors of Japan, providing you with unlimited travel on local JR trains and buses in designated areas in the Kansai region such as Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Himeji, Wakayama and Otsu and on Kansai Airport Express Haruka. The pass also includes unlimited use of the Haruka limited express train between Kansai International Airport and Kyoto.

Who is eligible for this pass?
The pass is exclusively for non-Japanese citizens entering Japan as a Temporary Visitor. You will need to show your passport when collecting it.
Can I buy more than one pass to extend my travel period?
No. Pass holders are not permitted to purchase or exchange more than one pass covering the same period.
Does the pass cover the Shinkansen?
No. Bullet trains (Shinkansen) and express trains other than the Haruka are not included. The pass covers local, rapid and special rapid JR services, plus Haruka reserved seats.
When does my pass become valid?
Validity starts at 12:00 am (midnight) on the day you choose and expires at 23:59 on the final day of your selected duration.
What are the Kyoto City Subway, Keihan and Hankyu vouchers for?
These vouchers allow you to ride three private networks that JR trains do not serve, giving you much wider coverage across Kyoto and the surrounding area. Details on how to use them are provided with your pass.
Can I use the pass on all buses in Kansai?
Only West Japan JR Bus routes within the valid area are included. The pass cannot be used on expressway buses or other private bus operators.
