Does this pass cover the Shinkansen or JR lines?
No. The pass covers metro and private railways in the Kansai network only. JR lines, including the Shinkansen, require a separate ticket or pass.
Can I use a screenshot of my ticket at the barriers?
No — screenshots are not accepted. You must present the live digital ticket on your phone with an active internet connection.
What happens if my phone runs out of battery or breaks?
If your device is lost, malfunctioning, or out of power, you will be unable to use the digital ticket and refunds cannot be provided. Carry a power bank as a precaution.
When exactly does each day of validity start and end?
Each day runs from 3:00 AM to 2:59 AM the following day. Tap 'Start Using' after 3:00 AM on the day you want to begin; activating before 3:00 AM will cause issues with that day's validity.
Does the pass cover the Kyoto Municipal Subway?
No. The Kyoto Municipal Subway is not included. Check the official route map (linked in the supplier guide) to confirm which lines are covered before you travel.
Can I choose which days I use the pass, or must they be consecutive?
You select a start date when booking. The two- or three-day pass then runs on consecutive calendar days from that activation date.
