Does my phone need to be unlocked to use the SIM card?
Yes. Phones with a carrier lock or country lock cannot use these SIM cards. Check with your home network before you travel — if in doubt, most manufacturers can confirm your device's lock status.
When does the SIM card validity start?
The clock starts when you activate the SIM, not when you purchase it. A five-day SIM activated at 3:00 PM on 1 August, for example, remains valid until 3:00 PM on 6 August.
Can I use the T-Money function on the SIM card straight away?
Yes — once you have the SIM card, the T-Money feature lets you tap onto Seoul's buses, metro lines and authorised taxis. You will need to load credit onto the T-Money balance separately at convenience stores or top-up machines.
Are children admitted free to Lotte World?
Children under 3 years old travel free on the AREX train, though no seat is reserved for them. Lotte World's own child admission policy applies — check the park's current age and height requirements at the time of your visit.
Can I make calls and send texts with the SIM card?
All plans include free incoming calls and texts. For outgoing calls and SMS, you can add a Data + Voice + Text option at an extra cost when you collect the SIM — this is currently available for iPhone and Samsung devices only.
What happens if the data feels slow?
The SIM operates under a Fair Usage Policy: heavy data users may experience reduced speeds at the discretion of the telecoms provider. Daily data resets at midnight, and the plan includes a 3 GB high-speed daily allowance before any throttling may apply.
