The Dragon's Back is a 10-kilometre trail that brings you closer to Hong Kong Island's natural beauty. Hike along mountain ridges, sheltered forest trails, and white sands as you navigate the ridge resembling the graceful curve of a dragon's back. You will be rewarded with panoramic vistas of southern Hong Kong Islands and its surroundings. On your descent, pass through shaded pathways to reach Big Wave Bay, where you can swim, surf, or simply relax by the beach.

Meet at Shau Kei Wan MTR Station
10:00 AMGather outside Exit A3 of Shau Kei Wan Station at 10:00 am to meet your guide and the group.
Bus to the trailhead
Board a bus to To Tei Wan Village, arriving at Shek O Road — the official start of the Dragon's Back trail.
Shek O Peninsula viewpoint
Pause to take in your first sweeping views over the Shek O Peninsula and the coastline below.
Summit of Shek O Peak
Climb to the high point of the route for 360-degree panoramas across southern Hong Kong Island and the surrounding sea.
Dragon's Back ridge and Pottinger Gap
Walk the iconic spine of the ridge — the formation that gives the trail its name — with open views on both sides, then stop at Pottinger Gap.
Descent to Big Wave Bay
Follow shaded forest paths down from the ridge to the beach, where free time lets you swim, surf, or relax at the water's edge.
Return to Shau Kei Wan MTR Station
2:00 PMThe tour concludes back at Shau Kei Wan Station at approximately 2:00 pm.
