This tour takes you to the summit of Mount Wellington, with spectacular views of Hobart and the expansive waterways of the Derwent River. When the sky is clear you can see as far as Bruny Island. Travel down the mountain and explore surrounding areas, including the heritage listed Cascades Female Factory with historical stories of early women convicts. You can also choose to add a visit to MONA, an underground art museum in Tasmania that is known as one of the world's best modern art galleries.

Where does the tour end, and will I be dropped back at my hotel?
Both tour options conclude at Brooke Street Pier — the standard tour at approximately 11:50 and the MONA option at approximately 16:00. Hotel drop-off is not included, so you will need to make your own way back from the pier.
How do I choose between the standard tour and the MONA add-on?
Select your preferred option when booking. The standard Mount Wellington Tour finishes before midday, while the Mount Wellington + MONA option extends the day to around 16:00 with a ferry ride to the museum included.
What should I wear to the summit?
Mount Wellington's summit sits at 1,271 metres and the temperature can be several degrees colder than Hobart city, with strong winds. Bring a warm jacket and wear sturdy, comfortable shoes regardless of the weather forecast in town.
Is this tour suitable for young children?
Children aged three and under travel free of charge. The tour is bus-based, so it is generally manageable for families, though the summit can be cold and exposed.
